Your production partner in France: photography, film and original music

You have a shoot in France and no wish to fly a crew out from London. Intuitio Studio is based in Bordeaux and delivers photography, film and original music under one art direction, for event and creative agencies, wine merchants and hotel groups.

I am Virginie Viel, photographer, filmmaker and composer. One bilingual point of contact, from brief to delivery. I am in London every three months: we can meet there, or start with a call.

What you get, in plain terms

One person on the ground in France. Based in Bordeaux, working across France, Paris included. No crew to fly in, no travel days on your budget.

Three crafts, one art direction. Photography, film and music come from the same brief and the same eye. Nothing is lost between suppliers.

Your brief, followed. Your creative direction stays yours. The brief is set together beforehand: time of day, light, what must be seen and what must stay discreet.

Everything in writing. Deliverables, schedule and usage rights are agreed before the shoot.

Photography, film and music under one art direction

  • Photography

Events, venues, products and people. One light, one direction, a series that holds together.

  • Film

Short brand and event films, shot in the same art direction as the photographs. Delivered in the formats you need, vertical included.

  • Original music

A score written for your film or your venue, not a stock track your competitors also use. Prefer your own music? The edit is built around it.

Events, covered on the ground

For event and creative agencies producing in France

A show in Paris, a gala dinner in a Bordeaux château, a pop-up in Cannes. You hold the concept and the client; you need someone reliable on the ground who follows your direction and delivers on time.

I cover the event in photography and film, and write the music when the edit needs it. You brief one person, in English, who answers for the whole production.

For wine merchants and wine media: Bordeaux, from the inside

Your en primeur campaign and your autumn offers need fresh château imagery every year. I am based in Bordeaux, an hour from the estates, and I photograph the vines, the cellars and the people who make the wine, through the seasons.

For UK merchants, importers and wine media, and for the houses of Bordeaux and Cognac that sell in Britain: photography and film shot on site, delivered ready for your website, your offers and the press. No crew travelling from London.

Photography · original soundtrack in progress

The harvest in the rows and at the sorting table, the vines in winter, the chai and the tasting room. An original soundtrack is being composed from recordings made on the estate.

For hotel groups and clubs between London and France

A tasting room in Bordeaux: a terracotta velvet banquette, marble bistro tables and sculpted brass wall lights against a deep green wall.

Your house in London and your house in France should look and sound like the same brand. Too often they do not: different photographers, different films, a playlist chosen by someone else.

I photograph and film your French property and compose an original sound identity for the group, under one art direction. Shot and composed in France, used wherever your guests find you.

A summer evening for an aesthetic clinic in Bordeaux

Event photography · from daylight to night

For Clinique George V, an aesthetic clinic in Bordeaux: a thank-you evening for clients and partners in its garden, dress code white. From 6.30 to 9.30 pm, the welcome, the speeches, the prize draw and the DJ set, with guests photographed with tact, so that everyone recognises themselves without feeling exposed. The clinic already knew my work: I had photographed its team a few months earlier.

Have a brief? Let's look at it.

A call, a written proposal, then the shoot.

How it works

  1. Call. You tell me the project, the date, the place and what the client expects. I tell you straight if it is a fit.

  2. Proposal. In writing: brief, shoot schedule, locations, a moodboard, deliverables and usage rights. No surprises later.

  3. Shoot. On site in France, to your schedule and your art direction.

  4. Delivery. Retouched photographs, edited films and music, in the agreed formats.

Straight answers

Do you work in London?

I am in London every three months to meet agencies, merchants and hotel groups; the first call can also take place by video. Shoots take place in France. A shoot in the United Kingdom is looked at case by case, within the UK rules that apply to it.

You are one person. Can you handle a full production?

For photography, film and music, yes: I shoot, film, edit and compose, and I direct the whole production myself. You brief one person and get one answer. If the scope calls for more hands, I tell you on the first call.

Can you work under our agency and our art direction?

Yes. I work to your brief and your art direction, on one part of the production or all of it.

Are you insured?

Yes. I hold professional liability insurance for my work as a photographer, filmmaker and composer.

Will you sign an NDA?

Yes, when you ask for one or when the project requires it. Confidentiality is standard practice for me.

Who owns the images and the music?

Usage rights are set out in writing before the shoot, for each channel you plan to use: what you can publish, where and for how long.

Do you work in English?

Yes. Calls, proposals, shoots and delivery all run in English. French too, which helps on site in France.
